As our commitment grows and our involvement broadens to take the Dark Socks Classic to even greater heights for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, we are going to have an actual online auction of extremely cool stuff. I know, I know, it sounds improbable that a professional curmudgeon like your mayor could so easily embrace the techno age or the info age or whatever age it is that requires computers and links, but this will be a cool site and great advertising for the participating donors.
The Online Auction is linked directly through AM 1500 KSTP. Even I will be able to take a look and bid on sporting goods, hardware, memorabilia... use your imagination. A great world of auction items awaits all who participate.
My buddy, Greg Marzolf, Jr., to whom we dedicate the Dark Socks Classic, would be terribly amused to see me so willingly embracing the electronic world, but the world changes and we must change with it. We are hoping to raise $300,000 for the MDA in 2008 and the Online Auction site will provide a great opportunity for both donors and bidders.
